    • Today's lunch is Cajun Chicken Salad w/ Garlic Breadstick Croutons.
    • Driver's Ed will start on September 23.  There is a sign up sheet in the office.  You must be signed up by Friday!  Pick up a flyer in the office or talk with Ms. Russ in room 446.
    • Congratulations to Rainier FFA students on their outstanding job representing Rainier at the Washington State Fair.  We had 4 species and came home with 4 champion awards for herdsmanship.  If you want to see the rest - check out the stage in the commons Friday morning as we take our group picture with our ribbons and plaques.
    • FFA members be sure to sign up in the Ag. room for the Blue and Gold Tour and Leadership Camp. We need firm numbers by Monday for meal counts and to get permission slips out.
    • Hey all you Mountaineer Fans! Wear your orange and black and plan to join us at 2:30 in the old gym on Friday, September 19 for our first pep assembly of this year!
    • FFA officer meeting Monday during lunch. Bring your lunch to Mrs. Karnes' classroom.
    • Do you want to run for Homecoming Royalty?  Please pick up a Royalty Candidate form in front of the office.  After the form is completed, please turn it back into the office. Forms are due by Friday @ 3:00.
    • Plan to join us for our Homecoming Dance on October 11. It will be "Under the Sea" with the colors of teal, green and silver from 8:30-11:30 in the old gym. Cost is $10 w/ASB and $15 without ASB if bought before 3 p.m. October 10 and $20 at the door. The dance rules are in your handbook and guest passes (that are available on line) are due to Mrs. Rossmaier by October 3. Remember the guest passes need to be completed by your guest's school and returned by the due date, please don't ask Melissa and Beth to do the faxing for you, get the pass to your guest for completion. Questions: see Mrs. Rossmaier.
    • Looking for service hours? the Rainier Community Garden can use your help on Saturday mornings from 9 to 12. See Mrs. Karnes with questions.
    • Students please get your Emergency forms turned into the office.
    • The Rainier Food Bank needs volunteers to help carry out groceries on Saturdays from 9-12.

  • Counselor's Corner:
    • Are you interested in getting additional credit this year, or need to recover some that you have lost in the past? See Mrs. Robinson in the counseling center or Mrs. Rossmaier ASAP for more information on a great opportunity. We currently have slots open for students to take an entrepreneurship credit.
    • Seniors - The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship application is now available in the counseling center. This scholarship is based on citizenship, academic achievement and financial need. Applications must be postmarked by March 10, 2015.
    • An admission representative from Saint Martin's University will be here Thursday, October 2nd at 9:30 a.m. If you are interested in attending St. Martin's, this is a great opportunity for you to have your questions answered! Sign up to attend in the counseling office.
    • An admission's person from Central Washington University will be visiting RHS on Wednesday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. (during advisory). If you would like to listen to her presentation, sign up in the counseling office.

    The Rainier School District is pleased to announce that starting this school year, all of our buildings will be equipped with the School ALERT System (Active Lockdown & Emergency Response Technology).
