    • Today's lunch is Lasagna Roll Up, Ceaser Salad, & Garlic Twist.  Please make sure you have funds in your lunch account.  The District accepts credit cards for online payments.  Check out the webpage!
    • The Rainier High School cheerleading tryouts are fast approaching. If you are interested in representing your school by becoming part of a spectacular squad, then please join us for an informational meeting on Wednesday February 17th at 3:00 in the cafeteria. Tryouts will take place the week of February 22nd through February 25th. If you have an interest in dance, cheer, leadership or community then cheerleading may be right for you! All are welcome to try out! Look for flyers throughout the school and be sure to join us! GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!
    • Come to the library to see Rainier High School staff and library TA's favorite books. Read what you love this Valentine's Day.  
    • Congratulations to Annika DeMint, Aaron Russell, Kyle Gunderson, Elijah Maddox and Augustine Maddox for placing 5th at Knowledge Bowl districts yesterday and qualifying for state in March.
    • Any Interact members or Rainier Students looking for service hours their will be an opportunity to help at an auction Saturday Feb 20th. Let Mrs. Baker know.  The auction benefits the Homelessness Backpack Organization.
    • National Honor Society applications are now available. If you are a sophomore or junior with a 3.33 GPA (or 3.2 with at least two pre-AP or AP classes) and are interested in joining NHS, see a NHS member (Zak Miller, Dalton Rush, Allison Gehrke, Nichole Holmes, Devyn Davis or Shouridama Beadle) or Ms Dickerson for an application. Application are due to Ms Dickerson or in her mailbox in the office by February 11th at 8:25.
    • Today is Hush day, during first hour each girl will get a paper heart to wear. It is important to be respectful while playing the game. If a girl talks to a boy they will have to award them with their heart. The boy with the most hearts at the end of the day will win a prize! 
    • There is a sign-up sheet in the office for the REF Auction, please stop in and sign-up to help!
    • Pennies for Patients is on!!  Over 30% of cancer could be prevented, so help researchers today by donating to your class’s box in the front office!
    • Traffic Safety class begins March 1st with a parent meeting on February 29th.  There are flyers on the office counter.
    • The 1st half of the AP test fees are due!  Please stop by the office if you have any questions. You may make online payments on our website.

  • Counselor's Corner
    • ASVAB results are in.  Stop by the counseling center to pick yours up.
    • Seniors that are planning on joining the choir at their college of choice next year should look into the Olympia Choral Society Scholarship program now.  Their application deadline is Feb. 12th!  Application and information can be picked up from the counseling office.
    • Seniors - If you're looking for scholarships we now have 33 scholarships posted on the scholarship tab of the counseling Center page of the district website!
    • Rainier High School will be hosting the May SAT. The test is May 7th and 11th grade students planning on attending college are encouraged to take it. Space fills up fast so register ASAP at collegeboard.org. Please see Mrs. Robinson or Mrs. Lybecker in the counseling center for more information or if you need help registering.
    • Seniors, the Rainier Education Foundation scholarship is now open for application. All seniors that are planning on some kind of education after high school should apply. Applications can be found at the counseling center or online.  Check your school email for more information.
    • Timberland Bank is offering five $1000.00 scholarships to seniors in our area.  Deadline to submit is Thursday, March 31, 2016.  Scholarship applications can be picked up from our counseling office or from any bank branch; we have a local branch in Yelm.
