    Notes:

    • Today's lunch is Burger Bar, Lettuce, Tomato & Baked Beans. 
    • Congratulations to all the RHS students that turned in science fair projects in their science classes. There were some hard choices because there were some great entries. Please check with your science teacher today to see the list of those that have made it on to the science fair on Friday and what your time slots are.
    • Check out the floral cooler for deals of the year.
    • Need community service hours??? The community garden is having a beginning of the season work part this Saturday from 1-4pm. See Mrs. Karnes with questions.
    • The FFA field trip will be on March 13th. Please stop by and get your permission slip from Mrs. Karnes or Mr. Baker today.
    • FFA FARM team practice will be Tuesdays after school; FFA Food Science team practice will be Wednesdays after school & FFA public speaking students need to sign up for your individual practice time slots.
    • Wrestlers, turn in your clean gear today. Banquet is March 12th at 6 pm.
    • Remember to bring in your spare change for Pennies for Patients! The winning class gets a cookie party.
    • Check out the Mountaineer Alumni Update bulletin board in the freshmen hallway. If you think just because you are from Rainier, you can't dream BIG and succeed, read these stories. We will change them weekly. Mountaineers CAN DREAM AND ACHIEVE BIG and with hard work and perseverance we will SUCCEED!! Here is your proof!
    • Wednesday, March 4 is our next General ASB Meeting and after that are class meetings, make sure your class officers submit an agenda to your Advisers if you want to have a meeting.
    • Juniors: Just a reminder that your current job documents are due to Mrs. Rossmaier by Tuesday, March 3, if you want to complete your job interview here at school on April 22.
    •  Prom is almost here!  Tickets available on March 2.
    • Juniors: If you are having trouble completing your mock interview for your portfolio, this is your opportunity. Interviewers will be here on campus on April 22 from 8-10 a.m. (this is a late start day). If you want to participate, you must submit your CURRENT resume, references and a cover letter that states what type of position you are applying for to Mrs. Rossmaier on or before April 1.
    • Rainier Middle School Interact Club is collecting items to send to deployed soldiers. Please check out one of our flyers posted around the high school for a list of items to bring. There will be a box in the high school office. Thanks for your support!
    • 92 Days until Spring Football! 
    • Ladies--thinking about going to Prom? Start thinking ahead and come check out the awesome dresses we have this year in our "Prom Closet". They are free and we have lots of variety. See Hailey McCann or Ross for a discrete viewing or more details.

  • Counselor's Corner:
    • If you are interested in applying to one of the US Service Academies, plan on attending their Information Night. Meet Academy Field Representatives from West Point, Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Merchant Marine Academy and Coast Guard Academy. This event will take place in Lacey on April 1. For location and times, visit the counseling center.
    • RHS will be hosting the May 2nd SAT. If you are a Junior planning on attending college after you graduate please register by April 6th at collegeboard.org. If you are unsure if you will attend college after high school, or unsure if you should take the SAT please see Mrs. Robinson or Mrs. Zimmerman in the counseling center.
    • Junior Boys interested in attending Boy's State, visit the counseling office for more information. This is a wonderful leadership and scholarship opportunity.
    • Junior Girls interested in attending Girls State, visit the counseling office for more information.
    • Seniors - the Centralia College Scholarship deadline is approaching (Monday, March 2). If you are considering Centralia College at all, we can help with the application and the scholarship.
    • Students interested in attending the Native Youth Summit on April 17, visit the counseling center for information.
    • South Sound Rotary Scholarship is now available. Seniors can pick up an application in the counseling office.
    • Olympia Master Builders Scholarship is now available. See the counseling center for more details if you are interested. Collegiate and technical scholarships are available for students interested in construction related industries.
    • Buick Achievers Scholarship is now available online. If you are a high school senior, plan to enroll full time at a four year college or university and plan to major in engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry, you need to apply for this scholarship! Visit the counseling center for more information.
