Scholarship Information
(Information will be emailed to students and parents when we receive it)Scholarships offer money for college that does not need to be repaid. Scholarships can be based on whatever criteria are important to the organization or individual offering the funds. Never pay someone to search scholarships for you!- Start Early! Don't wait until the last minute to complete the application.
- Proofread your application. Ask someone else to proofread it as well.
- Don't Procrastinate. Deadlines are final. Your application will not be considered if it is late.
- Take Responsibility for your application. Keep a copy for your records.
- Watch your mail and email. Most scholarship committees will communicate with you regarding your application through mail or email.
New! Each college and university website will provide a Net Price Calculator on their website which will provide you with an estimate of the actual costs to attend their school. Check their website!Don't forget to ask about scholarships offered by professional organizations and unions that family members belong to, and see us in the counseling center for information on scholarships being offered by our local community civic organizations and foundations!

SGT Justin Norton Scholarship
The SGT Justin Norton Memorial Scholarship Fund application contains a variety of questions to help the scholarship selection committee decide which Rainier High School Seniors will qualify for the scholarship. This one-time scholarship is valid for up to one year after the date of graduation and will be paid directly to the institution you choose to attend. You can access the form here.

Sea Mar Community Health Centers Scholarships
The Sea Mar Community Health Centers Scholarships are now open! Sea Mar will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds. In addition to this, Sea Mar offers a $2,500 scholarship to students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, and perseverance. The money can be used to cover expenses while you’re enrolled in college such as tuition, food, housing, books, etc! Take advantage of this opportunity. Olympia Master Builders Education Foundation Scholarship
The Olympia Master Builders Education Foundation is accepting applications for scholarship grants ranging up to $2500 to college or vocational/technical school-bound students, who currently reside within Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific or Grays Harbor Counties. Students intending to pursue studies leading to a career in the building industry such as: engineering, architecture, drafting, industrial design, carpentry, construction management, etc. are encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside within Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, or Grays Harbor counties and be a US citizen. Applications must be postmarked not later than Friday, April 28, 2023.

Ewing C Kelly Scholarship

Association of Computer Professionals Scholarships
ACPE - NW Scholarship Announcement.
The Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) has allocated up to $10,000 for scholarships of up to $2,000 each for students in Oregon and Washington. These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who have been actively involved in the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a technology-related field.
In order to qualify, a student must:
- currently be a senior at an Oregon or Washington K–12 public or private educational institution
- have demonstrated high interest and innovative use of technology during your high school career
- have demonstrated some community/school involvement, preferably with a technology focus
- plan to pursue studies in a technology-related field to obtain the minimum of a two-year degree
- provide a description, that includes a reflection of your learning form a technology project you have completed, and provide a link that documents and demonstrates your technology project.

Asstn. for Learning Environments Scholarships PNW
This program recognizes learning projects which positively impact teaching and learning and result from a sound planning process reflecting the needs and expectations of the community. Their scholarships go to students in the building industry.

Better Business Bureau Foundation offers $17,000.00, essay or video
The Better Business Bureau Foundation offers the Students of Integrity Scholarship to recognize high school juniors and seniors who personify and communicate ethics in the real world, as demonstrated through community service, personal integrity, and academic accomplishments. Two scholarships will be awarded to the winning application submitted by students residing in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Washington, or Western Wyoming. High school juniors and seniors from across the Northwest are encouraged to apply by creating a 3 minute video that demonstrates how BBB helps people become smart consumers, or by writing a 500 word essay. "We recommend getting as creative as possible, telling us the story of a person harmed by unethical business practices and how BBB can help educate consumers in advance to prevent scams or to help consumers report scams or bad businesses." Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) Scholarship
The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) is proud to announce their education scholarship application is available to assist and encourage workforce training in the construction industry. BIAW has at least $10,000 available in funding for students in Washington State pursuing a degree in the construction industry. They also have an additional $10,000 for scholarships designated for technical and trades students.

Cancer Unwrapped Teen Writing Contest
Open to students in grades 9-12 in Washington State - The goal of the Cancer Unwrapped Teen Writing Contest is to provide teens a place to share their stories, whether it's through their own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one. We want to hear about your experience using your voice. Since we opened the contest in 2006, thousands of submissions have been received and we have awarded more than $100,000 in cash prizes. Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation Scholarship
Submit your application to qualify for one of three Early Bird scholarships. All students will be notified of whether or not they received a scholarship in May.
The ESA Foundation is an international leadership and service organization with its focus on scholarships and grants. Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to Graduate College Debt-Free.
Hagan Scholarship recipients are high achieving, self-motivated students who will require substantial financial assistance to attend college. The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years; nine hundred twenty-seven Hagan Scholars from 43 states are currently enrolled at 358 colleges and universities. Over 2,000 Hagan Scholarships have been awarded to date.

Over 1000 students will receive $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degreeEligibility Criteria:- Have completed high school (or earned a GED)

Kelly Foundation of Washington Scholarship
The Kelly Foundation of Washington has a $2,500 Scholarship they will be awarding to a WA state graduate who is bound for college, community college or an accredited trade school next Fall. They consider grades, accomplishments, personal statements, financial need and letters of recommendation.

Make a Video or design a billboard-Win a Scholarship-Save a Life
Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change.
People know texting and driving is dangerous, but they do it anyway. As an applicant, you have one clear mission: create a PSA to encourage your friends to avoid distracted driving, specifically texting while driving. Together, we can spread the message that texting and driving is unacceptable for all of us. No one is special enough to text and drive. Competitions are for billboard design, video creation, or radio broadcast.
For the video competition:
For both the high school and college categories, the first-place winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $8,000. Second-place finisher will receive $2,000. Third-place finisher will receive $1,000. Videos are due April 1.
For the billboard competition:

OppU Achievers Essay Contest
The OppU Achievers Scholarship provides $2,500.00 to high-achieving students for tuition costs. To apply for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, submit a short essay responding to the prompted question. Scholarship decisions are based solely on an applicant's essay response.
Winners for the OppU Achievers Scholarship are selected four times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.
To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must:
- Be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school.
- Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
