• I grew up in this area, Lacey, and spent some time at various elementary schools, middle school, and high school in the North Thurston Schools.  As a child, my family spent numerous hours camping, playing outdoors, and participating in a plethora of sports.  My husband and I have continued that tradition with our children.  We love Rainier, live in Rainier, and both teach in Rainier.  The more time we spend here, the more Rainier has become home for us. 
     
    I spent the first 8 years of my working life as an LPN in oncology, cardiology, and pediatrics.  I loved nursing and taking care of people, but my passion has always been for teaching.  My husband has been a teacher for 21 years and he inspired me to go back to school and become a teacher.  I student taught in Rainier, spent three years in Yelm Community Schools, and was hired 7 years ago to work in the community where I live.  
     
    I will continue to spend countless hours finding ways to reach all students and welcome all kids into my classroom.
