Junk Orchestra

  • As the school year comes to a close, let's give our creativity one last project! Below is a link to a site with ideas of how to make your own instrument or instruments. Here are some suggestions:

    • Decide what kind of instrument: drum, shaker, something you blow, strings

    • Draw a design

    • Make a list of supplies needed Gather together construction material: tape (duct tape lasts longer), glue, rulers and adult help with scissors and anything sharp

    • Use recyclable materials- ask adults what you can use- plastic, metal, wood, string, rubber bands

Test the sounds each object makes.

What makes the best sound to you?

    • Construct your instrument

    • Decorate your instrument

Demonstrate your instrument and upload a picture or video to me: taherig@rainier.wednet.edu

    • Anyone who sends an appropriate picture or a video will be included in a video. Parents, I will include children on video media unless specifically told otherwise. It will appear on my website and on the Google classroom (if I figure out how to use it). It will not appear on YouTube or other social websites.

    DEADLINE: TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 2020 @ 5:00 P.M.
